Lead WP to Webflow Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Website Migration Specialist to lead the technical side of migrating our website from WordPress (hosted on WP Engine) to Webflow. You will work closely with our in-house SEO specialist, who will provide SEO oversight and guidance, ensuring that all migration activities align with our search strategy and preserve organic performance.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical migration experience, strong knowledge of both platforms, and a track record of managing high-stakes migrations without loss of organic traffic or backlink authority, while maintaining business continuity.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Migration Planning & Audit

• Collaborate with our SEO specialist to secure access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and any other tracking platforms to record current performance benchmarks.

• Create a full URL inventory, including metadata, structured data, internal links, hreflang, and canonical tags, in coordination with the SEO specialist.

• Review content performance with the SEO specialist to identify underperforming URLs and opportunities for consolidation.

• Conduct a technical audit covering site speed, mobile-friendliness, indexation, and crawl budget usage.

• Perform a backlink audit to identify and preserve high-value inbound links.

Migration Preparation

• Develop a comprehensive 301 redirect mapping plan in collaboration with the SEO specialist to ensure relevance and SEO equity.

• Audit and prepare image, video, and file assets for optimized migration.

• Preserve or rebuild structured data to meet SEO requirements.

• Audit tracking and analytics configurations (Google Tag Manager, events, goals) to ensure proper re-implementation post-migration.

Staging & QA

• Review the staging environment with the SEO specialist to ensure design, functionality, and SEO integrity.

• Test across devices and browsers for consistent rendering and user experience.

• Confirm indexation safeguards are in place on staging and removed prior to go-live.

Launch Day & Post-Launch

• Conduct a joint pre-launch and post-launch review with the SEO specialist to identify issues before the site goes live.

• Perform a critical launch-day audit to detect misconfigured redirects, missing tracking codes, noindex tags, broken canonicals, hreflang errors, and structured data breaks.

• Provide a prioritized fixes timeline to guide remediation efforts.

• Offer 30 days of post-launch support, with performance monitoring, weekly updates, and collaboration with the SEO specialist on addressing migration-related issues.

Requirements:

• Proven success in migrations from WordPress to Webflow with minimal or no organic traffic loss.

• Strong technical SEO knowledge, especially around redirect mapping, structured data, and backlink preservation.

• Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Screaming Frog, and other auditing tools.

• Experience working in collaboration with SEO teams or specialists.

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.

If you have successfully partnered with SEO teams on complex migrations and can ensure a seamless, SEO-safe transition, we’d like to work with you.

Please submit your proposal for consideration.
