Part-time Node.js Developer for Backend & Marketing Automation
We are seeking a talented part-time (10-20 hours per week) full stack developer proficient in Node.js and JavaScript to help us build and enhance product features, as well as help the marketing team build and implement marketing funnels (ads, content, and email) and sophisticated analytics.
We have a Webflow site that includes a custom Learning Management System (LMS). Memberstack is used for user authentication and content gating. We use Zapier for the majority of back-end automations. We also use Airtable to store a bunch of data. All data is tracked using Segment and stored in Mixpanel.
There is also a Node.JS server hosted on Heroku that uses Supabase to mirror the Webflow CMS. We use this back-end to help do more complex automations and operations that Zapier or Webflow or Memberstack is not sufficient to do.
We also have an AI copilot trained on all of our course content that the server uses the OpenAI API to run. The server also syncs Webflow CMS content with Algolia, enabling users to have powerful in-platform search.
We use Kit as our primary ESP and the team needs help from a technical person to ensure the targeting and triggers are all accurate.
Here's a list of things the ideal candidate would have:
- No code: Webflow + Airtable + Zapier + Memberstack (added bonus) + Tally + Algolia
- Marketing automation: Email tools (Kit), Segment, analytics, etc.
- Help the team set up analytics and funnels
- Full stack with front-end likely being more important
- Front end:
- Webflow page building is a big part—needs to be fast at making nice-looking UIs and copying a Figma design. Ideally, with halfway decent taste—although we do have a designer.
- Ideally, can use AI (like Claude Code) to code up on-page logic like limited promos, countdown clocks, coupon code logic, or various platform features like onboarding flows.
- Back-end:
- Our back-end is not super complicated, as it’s mostly a Webflow site with Memberstack, Zapier, and Airtable replacing a bunch of core back-end stuff.
- But for things that are too complicated for those to do, like fast data storage and retrieval, Stripe stuff, but this is not a super back-end heavy business and AI can do SQL and all that quite easily.
- So ideally, you at least have a solid understanding of back-end concepts, but you don’t need to be back-end pro
- AI Native:
- The type of code that is typically needed for his role can definitely be produced by AI, as I’ve proven in the past few months, but it’s not perfect at it.
- Using AI to code should prove to be significantly faster than just doing it yourself, so ideally you have experience using it.
- Hacky and resourceful: Because we’re a small team, we need someone good at finding and piecing together 3rd third-party solutions rather than trying to build everything from scratch.
